The following is a summary of the books that have been catalogued that form the library of the East Africa Study Circle as at the above date. The list does not include the Study Circle Journals but they can be made available on request. The listing includes the collection of the Study Circle and that of the late Roy Dunstan FRPSL who kindly donated his entire library to the EASC. The volumes from the Roy Dunstan Collection have a suffix ‘(RD)’ after the title.
These books are available to members on application to the Librarian. There are a number of considerations to be taken into account when borrowing books from the Library. These are:
1. That every care is taken of books whilst on loan.
2. That they are not kept for any period longer than four months.
3. Books, when returned by post, are properly packed and correctly addressed.
4. That the cost of forwarding books by post and their subsequent return by post is at the expense of the borrower.
5. Books may be borrowed on notification and hand-carried to meetings of the Study Circle in London at no expense to the borrower when it is known that the Librarian will be in attendance. Further, books may be returned to the Librarian at meetings where he is in attendance at no expense to the borrower.
6. When the Librarian is not in attendance at meetings, books should be returned by post at the borrowers’ expense and not retained until a further EASC meeting.
EASC Librarian.
